BAD!SLAM!NO!BISCUIT! in June

BAD!SLAM!NO!BISCUIT! gives you 2 minutes on stage with your original material, no props and no music for prizes!

Because BAD!SLAM!NO!BISCUIT! is the Poetry Slam!

And BAD!SLAM!NO!BISCUIT! wants your words in the audience, at the bar, on the street with a cigarette, in the toilet with rolls or those little bits of paper and most importantly or least importantly we want your words on stage!

So we provide Audience, MCs, Judges, The Master of Conflict, Lights, Poets, Arms, Sounds, Legs, Prizes, Seats, Yelling, Bar, Stage, EP Launch, Poetry, The Score Adder, Benches, Murmuring, Meh-ing, Toilets, Floor, Feature Acts and Heckling and Cheering, and Scoring from 10 to Negative Infinity.

All for the glory of poetry, or you, or the first prizes, or going to the bar.

And this month’s feature acts are!

Charles J Quinn
“A thirty year old, chronically ill, genderqueer Charles J Quinn, decided to perform at every BAD!SLAM! for a year. They did and they were good, then awful, then okayish, then awful, and so continued until a few years later they had become the uniquely good and awful poet they are today. Charles J Quinn also enjoys daydreaming about marrying Data from Star Trek TNG and never updating their blog.”

And BABYFREEZE launching their EP Forever Together!

For Forever Together BABYFREEZE have roped in esteemed musicians to, “slather the lean arrangements in gold” and these musicians will be joining them to launch their new music.

This is what Handsome Luke has to say of BABYFREEZE.

“We’re…both hams, but in Babyfreeze it manifests in different ways. I stay hunched over my drum machine, dancing and singing to myself, lost in reverie. Nick stares down the audience, performing acrobatics, jumping and lunging across the stage. Meanwhile, I’ve also developed this habit of singing along to all of Nick’s parts – not into a microphone or anything, just for my own benefit. I’m not sure what an audience makes of it, but for me it’s like being in the band and performing karaoke at the same time.”

So join BAD!SLAM!NO!BISCUIT! at the Phoenix Pub, and remember! No props! No music! your original material! Two minutes! Poetry Slam!

Poets sign-up at 7:30pm, slamming at 8pm, it’s all over by 11:30pm.
